When a badly beaten man is pulled from the lake and Honeypie is blamed, she must serve up the real culprit before she is handed a prison sentence.
In the postcard-perfect town of Misty Cove, gossip travels faster than a gull in a hurricane—and when a body is found floating in the curiously named Lake It or Leave It, the rumors roll in thicker than fog on a Sunday morning.
Honeypie “H.P.” Sweetwater, local diner owner and reluctant magnet for mayhem, was just trying to survive another week of ghostly matchmaking advice from her dearly departed grandmother and a sudden influx of seasonal tourists. But when Dexter and Tildie find a man—badly beaten and all too familiar—and H.P. is accused of the crime, things take a dark turn faster than curdled cream.
With her reputation in shambles, her diner under investigation, and the townsfolk split between supporting her and whispering behind her back, H.P. must serve up the truth before someone else decides to serve her a sentence.
